Tuffy’s Pet Foods recalls 1,600 cases of NutriSource Pure Vita Salmon Entrée dog food due to elevated levels of Vitamin D

Tuffy’s Pet Foods has voluntarily recalled approximately 1,600 cases of Pure Vita Salmon Entree Dog Food in a Tetrapak carton following notification from the product manufacturer of potentially elevated levels of Vitamin D. The recalled product was distributed exclusively in the United States to distributors and retail stores.

Consumers should stop feeding their dogs this product with the specific UPC and lot numbers listed below and either return them to the retailer they were purchased from for a full refund, or contact Tuffy’s Pet Foods, Inc. at (800) 525-9155 from Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Central Time, or by email at tufcustservice@klnfamilybrands.com.

To date, there have been no reports of illness or injury from consumers, however Tuffy’s is removing the specific lots of product listed below from distribution because excess levels of Vitamin D in the diet can lead to potential adverse reactions in dogs of all sizes.
