Bill Bookout Joins APPA as Pet Food Consultant

The American Pet Products Association (APPA) has announced that Bill Bookout, president and board chair of the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC), has joined APPA as its Pet Food Consultant, effective January 1, 2023. Bill replaces Roger Hostenbach, Jr., whom APPA thanks for his dedicated service throughout 2022.

In this role, Bill will inform, consult, and represent APPA and its members in all pet food-related affairs, including, but not limited to, attending and representing APPA in various pet industry meetings and consulting with APPA staff and members as needed. In addition, Bill will act as an industry advisor to the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) on behalf of APPA.

Bill has attended the meetings held by AAFCO for over 20 years. Bill currently serves as an industry advisor on several committees and working groups, including the Pet Food Committee, Pet Food Labeling Modernization, Ingredient Definition, and others. APPA looks forward to welcoming Bill as its Pet Food Consultant and is extremely excited to offer his industry knowledge, experience, and expertise to its members.
