Voluntary Recall: Blue Ridge Beef Puppy Mix for Dogs

Blue Ridge Beef has recalled 9,600 lbs. of their 2-pound log Puppy Mix to contamination with Salmonella.

The lot numbers are stamped on the clips attached to the ends of the chubs.

The products were packaged in clear plastic and sold August 6, 2024 – August 23, 2024 primarily in retail stores located in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.

The problem was discovered when a litter of a customer’s puppies became ill and reported the issue to VDACS. On November 27, 2024, the firm was notified by the FDA that the products tested positive for Salmonella and the recall was initiated.

Salmonella can affect animals eating the product and humans handling contaminated products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any exposed surfaces.
