Raaw Energy Expands Recall of Dog Food Products Due to Possible Listeria Contamination

Raaw Energy is voluntarily recalling numerous dog food products produced between July 17, 2025, and December 23, 2025, due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall also includes a Beef and Turkey Medley product produced on March 31, 2026.

Why the Products Are Being Recalled

According to the company, some products produced during the affected time period tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. While not all products from the period tested positive, and some products were not tested, the company is recalling products manufactured during these dates out of an abundance of caution.

Listeria monocytogenes can affect both people and animals. People may become exposed through handling contaminated pet food or contact with contaminated surfaces, bowls, utensils, countertops, or infected pets.

Distribution

According to the company, products were ordered through the Raaw Energy website and picked up by customers. The affected products were distributed to customers in:

  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Massachusetts
  • Maryland
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia

Product Identification

Affected products were sold frozen in:

  • 2-pound clear plastic tubes
  • 5-pound clear plastic tubes

The tubes were packed in brown cardboard boxes containing 5 to 20 tubes. White labels on the boxes identified the product flavor, ingredients, and production date.

Consumers should review the complete FDA product list to determine whether their product and production date are included in the recall.

Health Risk Information

People infected with Listeria monocytogenes may experience symptoms including:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Muscle aches

Severe infections can spread to the nervous system and may result in meningitis and other serious illnesses. Pregnant women, older adults, young children, and individuals with weakened immune systems may be at greater risk.

Pets exposed to contaminated food may become infected even if they show no symptoms. Infected animals can shed the bacteria through saliva and feces.

What Consumers Should Do

Consumers should:

  • Stop using affected products immediately.
  • Not sell or distribute affected products.
  • Dispose of recalled products in a secure manner that prevents access by people or animals.
  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect food bowls, utensils, storage containers, preparation surfaces, and any areas that may have come into contact with the recalled food.

Company Actions

Raaw Energy announced that it is temporarily stopping dog food production effective May 21, 2026, while corrective actions are implemented. The company stated it plans to improve sanitation procedures, strengthen quality control measures, and begin testing every batch using a pathogen detection system.
