Health Risk Information

Salmonella can affect animals that eat contaminated products, and there is a potential risk to people from handling contaminated products or from animal waste after an animal has consumed the product. The risk is greater when hands have not been thoroughly washed after contact with the products, surfaces exposed to the products, or animal waste.

Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for symptoms that may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever. In rare cases, Salmonella can result in additional ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms. Consumers experiencing symptoms after contact with the recalled products should contact their healthcare provider.

Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and experience diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets may have only decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Infected pets that otherwise appear healthy can be carriers and infect other animals or people.

Consumers with animals that have consumed recalled products and are experiencing symptoms should contact their veterinarian.

What Consumers Should Do

Consumers who purchased products from the affected lots should discontinue use, make sure the container is tightly sealed, and dispose of it in the trash.

Consumers with questions may contact Fi at 1-888-434-3647, seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, or email support@tryfi.com.
