Katie Brenner

Senior Compliance Officer

Katie Brenner serves as Senior Compliance Officer at the NASC, bringing invaluable regulatory expertise from her background as a former feed regulator with Idaho and Director of Regulatory Affairs for a member company. As the first feed regulator to join NASC staff, she helped advance the organization’s understanding of food labeling standards and state regulatory perspectives. She works directly with member companies on audits, labeling compliance, and regulatory guidance.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management from the University of New Hampshire. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a semester in Africa where she combined classroom learning with hands-on field work, completing a research project on the African Springhare. She later earned a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Seafood Science and Nutrition from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Katie’s expertise helps the NASC navigate the complex regulatory environment where animal supplements operate, ensuring beneficial animal health products remain available in the marketplace through proper regulatory pathways.

A lifelong animal lover, Katie is currently a pet owner to Chica, a spirited border collie, and Napoleon, a devoted lap cat. Over the years, she has also owned a diverse array of animals ranging from farm animals to exotics. Her extensive personal experience as a pet owner reinforces her professional commitment to safe, effective animal products. Outside of the office, Katie spends time with her family and enjoys running, birdwatching, and exploring Boise’s foothills.
